“Two branches. One tree.” Sony Pictures has unveiled the first official trailer for Karate Kid: Legends, the next big Karate Kid sequel continuing not only the other movies but also the “Cobra Kai” series which is currently on Season 6. Legends is set to land in theaters at the end of May 2025 right in the middle of the summer movie season. Daniel arrives in Beijing, where Mr. Han has been seeking him out. Han has a new protege, Li Fong, who is struggling to let go of the troubles in his past. The two mentors must collaborate to instruct Li Fong, but it remains to be seen if their instructional approaches will be compatible. Li’s martial arts teacher Mr. Han enlists original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso for help, and Li learns a new way to fight, merging their two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown. Starring Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio from the other movies, introducing Ben Wang as Li Fong, and also starring Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen. This is a slick teaser that actually sets up the characters and stakes in an intriguing way. I haven’t been watching “Cobra Kai” yet – but this first trailer definitely got my attention. // Continue Reading ›
