“If I can’t get it open, you could just go ahead and kill me?” “Deal.” Vertical has unveiled an official trailer for indie film The 8th Day – a crime thriller set in West Texas. Formerly known as And on the Eighth Day, this is releasing in limited theaters and VOD this month for anyone to watch. Two small-time thugs, an old woman living with a dark secret, a young woman desperate to get out, and a check-cashing store full of money will all intersect in a small Texas town – in eight days. Marking the feature directorial debut of actress Alexandra Chando. She explains that this little film flips “the heist genre on its head and tell a story through the female gaze. The idea that greed can sometimes play a significant part in driving our decisions, takes each strong minded character on a journey to an unexpected finish line.” The indie film stars Darren Mann, Phoebe Tonkin, Mustafa Speaks, Valerie Mahaffey, Lindsey Morgan, and Tanner Beard.
