🎞 “This version we worked especially hard on to make sure it tells a story, to make sure all of the story is there for you guys.” This one of the coolest movie promo videos I’ve ever posted on FS. Kodak has debuted a 10-minute video featuring filmmaker Ryan Coogler explaining various film formats & aspect ratios. His newest movie Sinners is about to open in theaters – and it’s playing in so many different sizes and formats and theaters, he wanted to take the to discuss and explain everything very clearly. Sinners was shot on film, using actual film stock instead of digital cameras. They also filmed a few sequences on IMAX cameras using the 70mm IMAX film. Coogler not only discusses the types and sizes of films he used to shoot on, he then explains the various projection formats, delving into the aspect ratios and why IMAX looks so much bigger. This is awesome. I love how clear and direct and geeky this is – because he really loves all of this and loves talking about it. Sinners was shot by DP Autumn Durald Arkapaw, and it opens in theaters worldwide starting next week. A must watch for cinephiles of all ages! Especially if you love watching films on film, the best way to experience it. Coogler also lists the 15 theaters projecting Sinners on film in this video. Enjoy. // Continue Reading ›
